Entry: Teething Tricks Jun 27, 2003

Grandma's Always right:
The 2 best tips we got for little teething help were from
grandma's..
Products for teething include the much needed gels and  baby tylenol
if it really gets out of hand.. but what if you not stocked up on those?
How do you relieve the little one when her pegs are sprouting?
Well aside from the saline filled teething rings that most babies just don't seem to "really" teeth on
or plastic chunky beads and /or keys, and other various  forms of teething toys we purchase by the cart load hoping with abandonment that they will solve the problem...
Unfortunately  they usually don't work that wonderfully and we waste a bunch of money on products that our little ones chew once they have  their teeth and don't really need those teething rings anymore...
Score 10 for Grandma...She has the best little rememdies:
Teething Rusks are a must.. and why buy when you can make your own?
Toast nice think toasting bread and store it in a container  "perfect for teethers"
Buy the  waffle fingers and give them too a teether "Frozen" they'll gnaw away  and the beauty of them is the fact they are frozen helps relieve them swollen little gums..
And the  other one which we tried and it also works is:
Thoroughly wet a clean (just for baby) face washer put it in a zip lock bag..
Then Put it into the freezer until its frozen, Remove from the Bag and let baby chew on it..
Works absolute wonders...
I keep a few frozen ones in zip lock bags still for bumps and scratches from  learning walkers little outside mishaps, they are easier to use then ice in a bag and as they melt you can wipe away tears...
Or in the case of a cut "germs"

We hope this helps you with your little ones teething issues...
